Another bespoke touch by Lahart Carpentry, designed around real homes, real routines, and the space you actually have.
We love working closely with our clients to find the best possible use of their space, carefully balancing clean aesthetics with smart, functional design to create fitted furniture that truly works for the home. Thoughtfully designed, made to measure, and built to last.
“We don’t do all things kitchen”… but we do do clever, bespoke upgrades
Sometimes a client doesn’t want (or need) a full kitchen replacement, they just want the room to work better. More storage. Better flow. A cleaner look. A few well-judged changes that make the kitchen feel “new” again.
That’s exactly what this project was about.
In this video, you can see an example of how Lahart Carpentry approached a kitchen revamp by adding additional storage and replacing doors, while keeping the overall space feeling light and cohesive: Kitchen refresh video
What we added (and why it works)
For this kitchen, the upgrades were focused and practical — but the impact is big:
- A tall storage unit to increase capacity without compromising the room’s clean lines
- An open shelf unit on the left, adding a lighter, more decorative element (and a useful “grab-and-go” zone)
- Replaced doors to modernise the look and unify the cabinetry
- Additional useful space on the right, improving the day-to-day function of the layout
- An oak feature worktop, bringing warmth and character into the scheme and creating a stylish contrast
The result is a very pleasant, contemporary “new” kitchen, one that makes better practical use of the available space while staying calm, bright, and welcoming.
And on the other side of the dining table… a made-to-measure display unit
A kitchen-dining space isn’t just about cooking and storage. It’s also about how the room feels when you’re sitting down, relaxing, or entertaining.
On the other side of the dining table, we created a beautiful fitted display/TV unit that brings structure and storage to the living area without feeling heavy. You can see it here: Display unit video
This unit combines:
- Open shelving for display (perfect for books, artwork, and personal pieces)
- Closed cabinetry below for hidden storage (to keep the room feeling tidy)
- A dedicated space for the TV, integrated into the overall design
- Integrated lighting, adding warmth and highlighting favourite items
It’s a great example of how bespoke fitted furniture can elevate everyday living — making the most of the space you have, while reflecting how you want your home to look and feel.
Looking to improve storage without a full renovation?
If you’re considering a kitchen refresh, or you want a fitted unit that properly belongs in your space (rather than something “almost right”), Lahart Carpentry can help you explore smart options that suit your home and your style.
